We all know the stigma around being “Instagram Famous” right? Well, what if I told you that we can turn that around into something great?! Like making your drink famous? Not just any drink, a Le Parfait Paris drink!

Yup, we want you to make your drinks “Instagram Famous” and “Retweet Worthy”! Are you the type of person that loves to post pictures of their food, or the type that loves to Pin all the best drink recipes you can try at home? Well, if you are, you’re in luck, because this contest was made for YOU!

What do you get out of it? The person with the BEST “Instagram Famous/Retweet Worthy Drink” will win a $25 gift card to spend on whatever they wish at Le Parfait. This is a contest that will be running all throughout the remaining of this month up to the end of next month. That being said, whenever you are at the shop and order a glass of wine or are there to enjoy the weekend Mimosa Brunch, make sure to snap a  creative photo before taking that first sip!

Dogs of Le Parfait Paris

In case you didn’t know, Le Parfait Paris is one of the many places in downtown that is dog friendly. Your furry friends are always welcome to come sit along with you and your friends for your morning breakfast, lunch time break, and your evening drink!

We at Le Parfait think that man’s best friend always has a place in our hearts and are just as important as you wonderful customers!

Just thought I’d take a moment and not only introduce the newest Le Parfait Paris furry member, but to feature some of our staffs furry  friends as well.


IMG_6249First off, let’s meet the newest member, Leya; she’s a rescue dog and we were told she is a breed of Boxer and possibly Pitbull. She’s been with the Le Parfait Family not too long, therefore she is still adjusting to the many faces of the shop. She’s a little skittish at first, but once you get her comfortable enough she will delightfully let you pet her. She’s only 4 months old and learning really quickly; her mom and dad got her pretty well potty trained as well! She loves playing with her chew toys and sleeping  most of the day just like most puppies do. Welcome to the Family Leah!

2015-08-21 15.04.18-1Next we have Laura’s critters, Cleveland and Dallas. The golden one is Cleveland and the black one is Dallas. They’re both two years old and best friends; they won’t do anything without each other.  Dallas loves playing fetch,  but all Cleveland likes to do is chase birds and butterflies. They make awesome hiking dogs and are always entertaining Laura and her husband. Crazy rascals!

FullSizeRender-4Lastly we have my two rascals, Nanook and Luna. Nanook is my old man, at almost 12 years old. He’s a Husky Shepard mix and loves to go swimming on hot days. He’s all bark no bite, he will lick you before he bites you. FullSizeRender-3

As for Luna, she’s my little spazoid. She’s a Terrier Poodle mix and loves to play. She especially loves to play with her big brother Nanook; I think she keeps him young.


There are others that are part of the Le Parfait Family, but are too shy to be mentioned and put in the spotlight. But, they are all happy members as well!

I Am Macaron – Story of a French Cookie

Ever wonder where the Macaron originated? I mean, we all know they are full of deliciousness and everything, but were they always made the way they are now? Or have they changed slightly over the many years of existence? Curiosity took over and I went back in time to see where this delicious French Cookie originated; and here is their story…


Born in Italy, Catherine de’ Medici, had her chef make me as a delicious treat before marrying Henry II of France. Even though I was originated in Italy, France took my heart and brought me in as their own, (which is how I associate myself as a “French Cookie“). I was first made as a simple cookie with one crunchy shell, with ingredients that consisted of almond flour, sugar and egg whites. Of course later on I was made into the Macaron you know today, but we’ll get to that later.

After exposing myself to the French community I was made famous by these two lovely nuns who sold us to sustain themselves from going hungry. Suddenly the demand for our heavenly taste  grew and more vendors sold us to be indulged.

Throughout the many years that we have been on this Earth, it wasn’t until the 20th Century that we became a double-decker cookie. Pierre Desfontaines, the grandson of Louis Ernest Laduree (Laduree pastry and salon de the, rue Royale in Paris) had the idea to fill us with a “chocolate panache” and to stick us together as one. Thereon out we have been acclaimed as the best-selling cookie and pastry in France.


Wow, who would have thought that the Macaron originated in Italy? Even though it was originated in Italy, it took storm in France and even a bigger storm brood in the kitchen of Le Parfait Paris. If you were ever curious to know what we use in our Macarons, well here it is:

  • Almond Flower
  • Natural Food Coloring Imported from France
  • All Natural Sugar

These ingredients conclude them to be Gluten Free and absolutely DELICIOUS! It was a great day when the Macaron came to birth!

All Aboard the Hornblower!

Music. Food. Networking. San Diego Bay. Le Parfait Paris with San Diego’s Best! Brings us to say, we were more than grateful to be invited to join in on the Hornblower’s Annual Industry Cruise on August 12, 2015.

We got to mingle and network with some of San Diego’s best, and made some great connections! Not only that, it was our chance to strut our stuff and display our best Macarons and other dessert bites!FullSizeRenderFullSizeRender-1

The cruise took place on the San Diego Hornblower, which I may say is a beautiful cruise ship! If you live, or are visiting San Diego, and haven’t ridden on it yet, you definitely should!

Living in San Diego, well anywhere really, it is always a plus to have some great connections. (You know that whole Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon; you know someone who knows someone who knows the Kevin Bacon).

Anyways, it is always important to have your connections, especially if those connections lead you to the right people. Which luckily, this Industry Cruise made it capable for us to connect with these individuals. We had people who already knew about us and those who have heard of us but hadn’t quite caught up to the wagon. With these connections we are now able to expand our brand and market to potential clients and maybe even our future business partners.

I know this may sound sort of boring, but just think of it as a giant social happy hour-food, drinks, and a live DJ. Plus when you meet that right person and are planning let’s say a party, who are you going to call last minute for a special order? *Cough *Cough Le Parfait Paris of course!

Nevertheless, it was a great event to be a part of and we are excited to be invited back next year!

Who knew we would do so well at sea?!

Feed Your Inner Foodie

Growing up in San Diego, I’m sure we have all participated in the Taco Tuesday frenzy. I find that once we start getting older we kind of wander away from what everyone is going to during the week. Either that, or you just get tired of it after a while. Instead of an every week thing, you make it more of a once a month thing. I myself always try to look for something new; what’s the new “hippest” little eating place in town, what hole in the wall can I go to next. My inner Foodie is always craving something new and exciting to place on my palate and fill my belly. If your inner Foodie is calling for something new and exciting, why not try our Tapas Tuesday?

Ever wonder how that hashtag started? It’s weird how certain trends start isn’t it?

Either way, we are glad this hashtag became popular, because well, that’s just what our Thursdays were made for!

So, if you are feeling “Thirsty” for an Ale, or a glass of  cold wine, you should definitely come through!

The weekend is just one more day away, but who said that you have to wait for Friday for a night cap? Our Thirsty Thursdays are a great mental break from your long day. Even better when  you come during our Happier Hours (3pm-8pm), selected small plates and drinks make great Happier Hour companions!


With our great selection of local beers such as: Ballast Point IPAs, Ales, and Lagars, Stone IPAs, and  Saint Archer Blonde Ale- make a great local variety all in one place! (Beer flights now available, choose from four of our different beers on tap.) In my opinion, a cold glass of beer goes great with a nice fresh sandwich! Guess what?
